The benefits of red wine
I started hearing about the benefits of drinking red wine about 10 years ago. Because I happen to live in France, the main producer of red wine, I used myself as a mouse to do an experiment: drink a small glass of red wine every day continuously for 1 month to see what changes (in addition, I saw the same experiment on a well-known Canadian TV station a few years ago, and it turns out that the world loves to drink people are so looking for reasons).
Since my grandparents and great aunts in my family all passed away due to cerebral thrombosis; and my dad also started daily treatment for hypertension many years ago, my mom, who is a doctor, was very worried that I would inherit the family history of the disease. So she always urged me to actively control my weight (obesity is an important factor in cardiovascular disease) and to pay more attention to all the foods, drinks and daily habits that are good for cardiovascular health. So, when I first heard about the cardiovascular benefits of red wine, I was already fascinated by its warm and mysterious red color.
Then gradually I heard that in addition to cardiovascular benefits, a glass of red wine daily can also help detoxify the body and improve immunity; antioxidant substances can improve skin firmness; cancer prevention. Is that true? Is it necessary to drink it every day?
So I started my one-month daily glass of red wine journey. I usually drink it after dinner while watching TV, around 9:00, and then go to bed between 10:30 and 11:00.
For the first few days, nothing special happened except that drinking made me feel good. However, from the fourth day onwards, it was difficult to fall asleep after waking up at 3:00 at night, and it was accompanied by thirst. From the second week on, I moved up the drinking time by half an hour, i.e. at the same time as dinner, and put a glass of plain water at my bedside every night. This solved the problem of insomnia and thirst perfectly.
First of all, I would like to talk about the changes in my body after drinking a glass of red wine a day for a month.
First, regarding the cardiovascular effects, my blood pressure was and still is normal, because it is impossible to quantify the effect of wine on them. Of course, if you’re like me and have a family history of the disease, then it’s important to learn all the good habits other than drinking wine: get up early, go to bed early, eat healthy, exercise daily, and be in a good mood.
Second, it’s true that I didn’t catch a cold or have any other health problems during the month: but again, it’s impossible to quantify.
Third, since I drink red wine during meals, I need to give proper consideration to matching my diet. I lost a surprising 3 pounds in this month by eating mainly red meat such as lean beef with some vegetables. And no appetite for sweets after meals, this is not yet sure that it is the role of red wine. But there are some experts who do confirm that red wine can help reduce weight. However, if you overeat, drinking red wine to lose weight is certainly not realistic.
Fourthly, I felt some redness in my skin (without having been drunk).
Fifth, I think it is the most obvious point: because daily drink a little red wine, sometimes alone, sometimes with friends and family. Slowly tasting red wine is and family and friends in a warm, soothing atmosphere to enhance the relationship process. Compared to drinking white wine, many times is running to drink, or even drunken purpose of the meal, drinking red wine atmosphere is more pleasant, more soothing. After a long day at work, it was an unusually relaxed moment. To this day, when I think about it, a glass of wine for one person can talk for hours is the best of my experiment. You may ask, can this be other drinks instead? Tea? Coffee? I think are different from red wine, tea is too easy to get up at night after drinking; coffee at night more can not drink. Other alcoholic beverages, either too high sweet points, or too high alcohol content. Thinking about it, red wine is really the best choice.
That red wine is what substances are good for the body?
Grape skins have a polyphenol compound called resveratrol, all the magical effects of almost all from it.
Resveratrol is a natural plant antitoxin that is produced during the growth of grapes to prevent gray mold infection that causes grape rot. It can prevent tumors, reduce platelet aggregation, prevent and treat atherosclerosis, and therefore prevent cardiovascular diseases. Foods with resveratrol include peanuts, grapes, etc. It also has obvious antioxidant and anti-free radical effects, free radicals are the cause of aging, cancer, arthritis and other diseases, which is why people say that red wine has the effect of beauty and beauty.
Then you will ask, is it possible to eat grapes directly or drink grape juice?
Yes, but the effect is not as significant as with wine. Because resveratrol mainly exists in the grape skin, the flesh and juice contains very little. Experts have found that the amount of resveratrol in grapes is only at the level of a few micrograms per liter when tested. And during the fermentation process of wine, the amount of resveratrol increases significantly due to the action of grape juice enzymes, so the effect of drinking wine becomes more obvious.
Some physician experts recommend a glass of red wine daily. For me personally, that is, a glass should be a very small one, otherwise it will cause sleep quality problems, this depends on your body’s ability to tolerate wine. In short, big drinks hurt, small drinks are good, then good wine is not suitable for big drinks.
