The first thing you need to do is to get a few tips on how to wake up

“When you sleep in spring, you hear birds crying everywhere.” Why do you get sleepy when it’s spring? What are the ways to relieve spring sleepiness?”‘Spring sleepiness’ is an adaptive response of the human body to the spring climate, caused by the change in blood flow in the human brain at the turn of winter and spring, and is entirely a physiological phenomenon.” Liu Yang, deputy director of the subhealth department, explained that in winter, the blood vessels in the skin and superficial layers of the skin gradually contract, sweat glands and pores also close, and blood flow is relatively reduced, when the blood flow supplying the brain is sufficient. Once spring comes, the temperature rises, the skin no longer works too much to keep warm, the blood vessels and pores of the skin gradually expand, blood circulation accelerates, the blood supply to the brain decreases, less oxygen is delivered, and it is easy to get sleepy in the case of insufficient oxygen.

To relieve spring sleepiness, you have to ensure a certain amount of sleep time. Liu Yang said that the sleep time for adults should be 6 to 8 hours, and the sleep of the elderly should not exceed 8 hours. As the saying goes, “lying down for a long time hurts your qi”, too much sleep may not only cause poor qi and blood flow, tendons and veins, but also the more you sleep, the more sleepy you get, triggering inertia. Appropriate exercise can also help to relieve spring sleepiness, such as taijiquan, eight-danjin, radio gymnastics, etc., which can accelerate blood circulation in the body and improve the oxygen supply to the brain.

Scientific diet can also help to relieve “spring sleepiness”. It is advisable to eat sweet and warm products in spring to help strengthen the spleen and support the yang, so that the spleen will be healthy, the qi and blood will be abundant, the liver will be nourished, and the liver qi will be well-structured. “Leek is sweet and warm in nature, and can strengthen the spleen and benefit the qi. Seasonal wild vegetables such as shepherd’s purse, dandelion and spinach, cold with sesame oil, are also good for dissolving ‘spring sleepiness’.” Liu Yang suggests.

In addition, Liu Yang also recommends some small ways to relieve “spring sleepiness”.
